Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before placing a hire order with Murphy's Event Hire.

1. Hire Period

All hire orders include a 3-day hire period as standard (delivery day, event day, and collection day). Additional days may be arranged at an extra charge by prior agreement.

2. Booking & Payment

  • Payment terms will be outlined on your invoice. These must be met to confirm the booking.
  • Payment may be made by bank transfer or other methods agreed at the time of booking.
  • A deposit may be required to secure the booking, with the balance due before delivery. Any breakage or damage costs will be deducted from the deposit and the remainder refunded after collection.

3. Delivery & Collection

  • Delivery and collection are available across London. Charges are calculated based on the venue postcode and will be confirmed at the time of quoting.
  • The client must ensure suitable access for delivery and a safe, dry storage area for hired items.
  • Items will be delivered clean and ready to use. They should be returned rinsed (not washed) and repacked in the crates provided.
  • If items are not repacked or are left in an unreasonable condition, an additional cleaning fee may apply.
  • If any items arrive broken, damaged, or dirty, the client must photograph them and send evidence to us within 10 hours of delivery. Claims made after this window cannot be accepted.

4. Breakages & Damages

  • The client is responsible for all hired items from the point of delivery until collection.
  • Any broken, damaged, or missing items will be charged at the full replacement cost. The cost of damages will be deducted from the deposit.
  • Damage to crates will also be charged.
  • We understand that minor breakages happen at events — reasonable wear is expected. We will always be fair.

5. Cancellations

  • 14+ days before delivery: Full refund.
  • 7–13 days before delivery: 50% refund.
  • Less than 7 days before delivery: No refund, as stock will have been reserved and prepared.
  • Cancellations must be made in writing (email or WhatsApp).

6. Client Responsibilities

  • Items must be used only for their intended purpose.
  • Items must not be sub-hired or removed from the agreed venue without our consent.
  • The client is responsible for the security of all hired items while in their possession.

7. Availability

All orders are subject to stock availability at the time of booking. We will always do our best to fulfil your requirements and will suggest alternatives if a particular item is unavailable.

8. Liability

  • Murphy's Event Hire will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the hire.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the total hire fee paid for the order in question.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control (traffic, road closures, severe weather, etc.).

9. Right to Refuse

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any booking at our discretion. In such cases, a full refund will be provided.
