How Much Party Ice Do You Need?
The right amount depends on your event type and how drinks are being served:
- Casual party (drinks in a cooler) — allow 0.5kg per guest. A party of 40 needs around 20kg (10 bags).
- Wedding or formal event — allow 0.75kg to 1kg per guest. For 100 guests, order 50 to 100kg (25 to 50 bags).
- Cocktail-heavy event — allow 1kg+ per guest. Cocktails use more ice per drink, and ice for shaking is separate from serving ice.
- Ice buckets on tables — each 24L galvanised ice bucket takes roughly 6 to 8kg of ice (3 to 4 bags).

We deliver party ice to venues across all London boroughs. Ice is delivered in sealed 2kg bags and can arrive alongside your glassware and equipment hire, or separately if you prefer. We recommend scheduling ice delivery as close to your event start time as possible to keep it at its freshest.

How much party ice do I need for an event?
As a general rule, allow 0.5kg to 1kg of ice per guest. For a party of 50 people, 25 to 50kg (13 to 25 bags) is a good starting point. If you are serving cocktails, filling ice buckets or running a self-serve drinks station, go towards the higher end.
Can you deliver ice on the same day as my event?
Yes. We offer same-day ice delivery across London. We recommend scheduling delivery as close to your event start time as possible to keep the ice fresh. Contact us to arrange a delivery window.
How should I store the ice before my event?
Keep the bags in a freezer if possible. If no freezer is available at your venue, store the bags in a cool shaded area and use them within a few hours of delivery. Placing bags inside ice buckets or insulated containers helps them last longer.
